Lisa Ziegler
Lisa Ziegler’s career as a specialty cut flower grower began in 1998. She was a home gardener that had a dream of a career related to gardening. In 1997 she read the book "The Flower Farmer" by Lynn Byczynski and knew she had found her dream. She began in 1998 selling to one local florist and expanded in the coming years to include more floral shops, Colonial Williamsburg and in 2001 began selling from local Farmer's Markets.
During this time she began giving gardening programs and workshops to Garden Clubs, Master Gardeners and home gardeners. Two needs became apparent to her: people where eager for her gardening tips and solutions that made gardening easier, and many of the supplies, tools, and seed varieties that she found essential for her gardening success were not readily available. So, the seed was sown for The Gardener's Workshop. In April 2005 The Gardener’s Workshop™ was launched with the help of her sister Suzanne Mason Frye, and sister-in-law Sara Mason.
