An Introduction To The World Of Boats
HOW DO YOU KNOW WHICH BOAT IS RIGHT FOR YOU?
Here’s MAC Events’ Top Five Tips for buying your first boat:
Talk with your family/spouse/partner/friends about where you’ll go and what kinds of activities you’ll participate in while aboard your boat. Will you be boating in the ocean or the bays? Waterskiing on a lake? Fishing in a river? And how many people will be aboard your boat at one time?
Consider your storage needs for when you’re not on the water. Will you keep it moored at a marina? Will you store it at a public storage location? Will you tow it on a trailer and keep it in your driveway?
Research, research, research. Before the MAC Events Boat Show, check out the different kinds of boats online or at your local library. Stop by a marina to chat with other boaters. And talk with your neighbors or a few dealers.
Visit the MAC Events Boat Show. It’s a buyer’s show with free educational seminars on boating and fishing, as well as all the local dealers and well-known manufacturers in a one-stop shopping environment. It even offers convenient on-site financing. If you’re not ready to buy and you’re still in the research phase, you’re welcome to cruise in to research what kind of boat is best for you and your family, participate in a few hands-on seminars, compare prices and talk with dealers.
Earn a degree in boating. Take a boater’s education class with your friends and family who will be aboard your vessel. It’s important to know about boating safety long before you take your maiden voyage.
