VARIETY OF MODELS REFLECTS WIDE RANGE OF RV ENTHUSIASTS AT MAC EVENTS 41st New Jersey RV SHOW

Wednesday, January 2, 2008

EDISON, NJ – A trip to the MAC Events 41st Annual New Jersey RV Show will reveal just how wide-ranging the people seeing America from a recreational vehicle have become when the 41st annual show opens January 18, 2008, at the NJ Convention Center.

“The more than 250 RVs in this show demonstrate the variety of lifestyles recreational vehicles accommodate,” said James McLaughlin, show director and president of MAC Events. “The people you meet in your travels are a lot more like you than you may have thought.”

The NJ Convention Center offers plenty of free parking and is conveniently located in Raritan Center just minutes from the Garden State Parkway, NJ Turnpike, and Routes 1, 9, 440 and I-287.

The Show runs January 18 through January 20.

Exhibits cover everything from pop-up campers to luxury diesel motor homes by manufacturers including Forest River, Keystone, Crossroads, Fleetwood, Holiday Rambler, Airstream, Winnebago, Canterbury park models, Coachman, Four Winds, Gulf Stream Coach, Jayco, Tiffin, Travel Supreme, Country Coach and many more.

RV travelers seeking comfort will be soothed by Itasca motor homes from Winnebago Industries being exhibited by Colonial Airstream & Itasca of Lakewood.

“We will be showcasing the largest selection of Itasca motor homes found on the East Coast with models including the Sunstar, Sunova, Sunrise, Cambria and Navion,” said Lauren Botticelli, sales associate. “These models are powered by a Mercedes Benz diesel engine and the variety of the models is sure to meet many specific needs.”

The 2008 Sunrise, for example, is available in five models with double or triple slide-outs, including the spacious 23-foot full-wall slide-out on the new 32H. Itasca uses innovative SmartSpace features to make the most of the available space.

The Itasca Navion class C motor home is built on the new Dodge Sprinter chassis with a choice of a powerful, fuel-efficient Mercedes-Benz turbo-diesel engine or a sporty 3.5-litter V6 gas Mercedes-Benz engine. The Navion comes with 5-speed automatic transmission, four-wheel ABS disc brakes and independent front suspension.

People seeking to introduce the family to Rving may want to have a look at Jayco’s Jay:
“The Jay Feather appeals to entry-level RVers, young families looking to introduce children to RV travel and to people looking for a comfortable and sturdy travel trailer that doesn’t cost a lot of money,” said Ken Jenner, owner KADCO RV, the Robbinsville dealership exhibiting the Jay Feather models. They have strong, lightweight frames, a trademark E-Coat rustproofing protection and Tor-flex independent suspensions.

“And you can pull one with a sport utility vehicle,” Jenner said. The Jay Feathers range from 23-to-32 feet and will be priced at the show from $17,000 to $23,000.

Jenner recommends that RV enthusiasts looking to move up to a slightly larger and more well-appointed travel trailer tour the McKenzie Starwood he is also exhibiting.

“The Starwood trailers range from 27-to-34 feet and have cherry wood cabinet interiors that make them a little more plush,” he said. The Starwood travel trailers are priced from $23,000 to $32,000 at the show.

“The RVs in this show run the full range of travel needs and budgets,” McLaughlin said. “With families now the fastest growing segment of RV buyers, dealers are exhibiting a wider range of recreational vehicles.”

Other noteworthy exhibits include Star Stream travel trailers made by Starcarft and displayed by White Horse Leisure of Williamstown, NJ. With an aluminum exterior and contemporary European design, the Star Stream features a more high-tech interior with a raised-panel cabin door, smoked glass and accent lighting in the cabin ceiling.

White Horse also will exhibit a Jayco Seneca motor home with a 330-hp Duramax diesel engine that can tow 8,000 pounds and is available in a variety of floor plans ranging from a 35-foot single-slide-out model to a 37-foot triple-slide. Every model’s furnishings include a queen-size bed and a leather hide-a-bed sofa.

All American Camper & RV of Farmingdale, NJ, will exhibit Forest River’s Sunseeker class C motor homes with 7-foot ceilings and options including an entertainment center with a 25-inch television, rich oak cabinets and a slide-out bunk as well as its pop-up camping trailers.

The RV & Camping Show will feature approximately 80 booth exhibitors covering everything from finance and insurance to RV accessories and services.

More than 30 campgrounds ranging from seasonal locations to overnight resorts with golf courses and children’s amusements will be on hand to help show visitors plan their next vacation.

The 41ST Annual New Jersey RV & Camping Show will be open Friday, Jan. 18, from 1:00-to-9:00 pm, on Saturday, Jan. 19, from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm, and on Sunday, Jan. 20, from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm. Admission is $10 for adults and $6 for children 12 through 17. Children 11 and under are admitted free.
