FALL NJ BOAT SHOW DÉBUTS 2008 MODELS OFFERS GREAT DEALS ON 2007 BOATS
Tuesday, September 4, 2007
EDISON, NJ – This year’s MAC Events Fall NJ Boat Show, which runs October 5 through October 7 in the New Jersey Convention in Raritan Center, marks an extraordinary opportunity to purchase a new 2008 or 2007 model with incentives that include deep discounts and free winter storage.
“In addition to the variety of this show, with more than 300 boats on exhibit, and the fact that a number of the 60 plus brands represented are débuting 2008 models here, our dealers are offering variety in the 2007 models that remain in their inventory,” said show director and MAC Events vice president Kevin McLaughlin. “Some of our dealers plan to discount their boats by 10% to 15% at the show. That savings is strong motivation for people who want to get into boating as well as for boaters that have been thinking about moving up.”
The Fall NJ Boat Show will fill all 150,000 square-feet the NJ Convention Center’s indoor Exhibit Hall with models from a huge variety of boat manufacturers including Grady White, Chaparral, Wellcraft, Lowe, NauticStar, Steiger Craft, McKee Craft, Hydrasport, Maycraft, ProLine, Luhrs, Regulator, Pursuit, Seaswirl Striper, Crownline, Robalo, Cruisers Yachts, Southwind by Bennington, Stingray, Sailfish, Century, Avalon Bayliner, Four Winns, Clearwater, Sea Hunt, Sea Boss, Boston Whaler, Godfery Pontoon Boats, Hurricane, Sea Quest, Polar, Azure, Porta-Bote, Sea Pro, Parker, Chris Craft, NauticStar, Key West, Glastron, Sea Fox, Shamrock, Yamaha, Suzuki & Honda Outboards, Larson, Triumph, Cobia, Stratos, Crestliner and Smokercraft as well as Sugarsand Jet Boats, Gekko Wakeboard & Waterski Boats, and a broad variety of personal watercraft by Kawasaki, Yamaha and many more
In addition, show visitors may sharpen their angling skills with The Fisherman Magazine’s free fishing seminars featuring lectures on local fisheries by the region’s top sports and professional anglers. The Fisherman also is offering its free hands-on clinics to demonstrate techniques for everything from proper knot tying to seining for herring.
The 20th Anniversary Fall NJ Boat Show also features a wide range of boating accessories and services including floating docks, marine jewelry, T-tops, custom fishing rods and fishing tackle, outboard and inboard engines, marine electronics, marinas, brokerage and insurance services.
“This is a big boat show and it presents an opportunity to crawl around more boats in a few hours than you could examine in two or three days of driving from one dealer to another,” McLaughlin said. “Plus, dealers really sharpen their pencils to make a sale when they know you can talk to their competition just a few exhibits away.”
Comstock Yacht Sales on Princeton Avenue in Brick will exhibit the new 2008 NauticStar line, which will make its regional début at the show as well as its first appearance at a MAC Events show.
Manufactured in Mississippi, the NauticStar line includes the 1900 model bay boat and several center console fishing boats from 19-to-22 feet powered by Yamaha outboards ranging from 150-to 225-hp, according Comstock President Chip Gahr.
“We took the NauticStar line on because we liked the looks - the fit and finish - and we love the Yamaha motors and the pricing. They are entry-level boats from $22,000 to $38,000 so they are affordable for everybody,” Gahr said.
NauticStar builds its boats with all composite decks so owners do not have to worry about wood cores delaminating and back its hulls with a lifetime warranty.
Gahr said the fall is an advantageous time to purchase a boat because most dealers will do well for customers in pricing and Comstock is one of many that will winter store their new boat at no cost.
“It makes it a little easier on the pocketbook, especially for a new boater,” Gahr said.
Statewide Marine Service of Mantoloking and Waretown will exhibit Triumph boats including the new Triumph 235 center console, which also is making its regional début. Triumph builds its boats of Roplene, which Statewide President Fred Brueggemann said is tougher than fiberglass.
“Unlike convention fiberglass, you can bounce them off a dock and you won’t damage them. The hulls are virtually indestructible,” Brueggemann said. “They come with a lifetime hull warranty.”
The Triumph 235 center console is 23-feet 8-inches long with an 8.5-foot beam, and variable-degree dead-rise of 22-to-24 degrees in the bow.
“Triumph boats are known for giving an extremely dry, comfortable ride. They have many features such as flush-mount navigation lights so you never catch you lines on them and a head with standing headroom in the console,” he said. “The most unique element of Triumph boats is that you never have to wax them. Just wash and dry because unlike fiberglass hulls, where the color is in a thin layer of gel coat, the Triumph hull is made of a polymer with the color throughout it.”
The 235 also offers the efficiency and reliability of a Yamaha F250 and carries 135 gallons of fuel. Statewide is offering a fully loaded 235 with motor and trailer for $59,900 at the Fall Boat Show, $10,000 less than its retail price.
“This is a good time to buy a boat because you get to turn your boat in and you have no storage or spring launch costs next year. And you can order what you want and not be forced to take what’s in stock,” Brueggemann said.
Raritan Center is convenient to Manhattan and Staten Island as well boaters in central and northern NJ and offers plenty of free parking, McLaughlin noted.
The 20th Annual MAC Events Fall NJ Boat Show will be open Friday, Oct. 5 from 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm, on Saturday, Oct. 6, from 11:00 am to 9:00 p.m., and on Sunday, Oct. 7, from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm.
