Make Your Home As Unique As Your Lifestyle

Monday, September 17, 2007

LINCROFT, NJ — MAC Events has added an additional home show and a new opportunity for homeowners to add flare to their living space with enhancements to match every consumer’s unique lifestyle when MAC Events 1st Annual Fall Jersey Shore Home Show opens Sept. 28.

"We added a Fall Jersey Shore Home Show because our winter show drew so many people and because the fall is a time of year when people start to refocus on home improvements they want to enjoy over the holidays," said show director James McLaughlin. "This is a chance to test your remodeling and decorating ideas with more than 125 of the region’s most innovative manufacturers and sellers of home furnishings, window treatments, kitchen cabinetry, appliances, security systems, air conditioning and heating systems, indoor and outdoor furniture, cookware, pools and spas, and landscaping companies.

"Our show visitors save a lot of driving by having so many home improvement specialists in one place at the same time."

Located just a few miles west of Exit 109 of the Garden State Parkway, the three-day show at Brookdale is easy to reach and offers plenty of convenient free parking.

Whether you are planning to do your own decorating or looking for a specialist that can design and install a new kitchen, you have a choice of exhibitors that address your needs at the Fall Home Show.

Siperstein’s Paint & Decorating Centers’ large home decorating exhibit will feature the latest window treatments, which it now includes along with window toppers and draperies in its free decorating shop-at-home service.
"We also have displays featuring new wall covering designs for 2008 that are just being released," said Todd Katz, president of Long Branch-based Siperstein’s, which has six stores in Monmouth and Ocean counties and stocks more than 30,000 home decorating products.

"We also will be showing the new color pallets for 2008 from Pittsburgh Paints along with new wall covers that coordinate with them," Katz said, adding that the company will offer its free demonstrations of wallpapering and painting techniques including faux finishing.

Improving baths and kitchens is a great way to enhance a home’s value as well as offer a more upscale quality of life you will enjoy every day.

Artisan Kitchen & Bath Studio, a full-service renovation company with artistic flare, will exhibit a new Italian-style kitchen that president Joe LaSpino said features a linear, modern European design.

LaSpino said he is seeing a lot of demand for European-styled kitchens at his studio on Broadway in Long Branch.

"These kitchen designs have outstanding organizational capacity," he said. "Laminated surfaces and exotic wood venires are increasingly popular. We have a new dye stain and high polish look that lets you take a traditional look and make it modern."

Artisan Kitchen & Bath Studio also will show some of its custom cabinets, hand-crafted and finished by studio artisans, and will offer preferential pricing for people who visit their exhibit during the show.

Woodworking is an excellent way to create a rich, warm feeling and can be used in both modern and Old World designs. Fine Creations Works in Wood of Point Pleasant will be on-hand with displays of its architectural millwork and fine custom furniture.

"We’re also starting to do unique gifts made from wood scraps, cutting boards for instance," said owner Michael Lohnes, who also has a small shop in Belmar. "We’re trying to take the company in the direction of using all recycled woods and doing green projects. We will have a couple of historical windows from President Garfield’s cottage in Long Branch at the show."

Wood also is a versatile way to answer modern living needs. Fine Creations will exhibit an entertainment center that offers utility in a piece of fine furniture.

"It looks like an antique but will accommodate all of the modern audiovisual equipment," said Lohnes, a graduate of the Pratt Institute of Fashion Design in Brooklyn. "We’re a small, family company and we take on projects that other shops might not. My idea of woodworking is really fine, high-end work. We will show a couple of pieces of art work and get people thinking of wood and what it can do."

The Fall Jersey Shore Home Show also will offer landscape specialists that will design gardens now to produce spring blooms and offer natural aesthetic beauty to a yard in every season. Exhibitors include M. Robinson & Son, Inc. of Millstone, and Brothers Landscaping of Freehold.

The 1st Annual MAC Events Fall Jersey Shore Home Show will be open Friday, Sept. 28, from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m., on Saturday, Sept. 29, from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., and on Sunday, Sept. 30, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The Home Show is produced by MAC Events, a nationally recognized producer of high-quality business-to-consumer trade shows in a variety of industries and markets since 1968. The Spring Lake, NJ-based family-owned company produces approximately 20 recreational vehicle, home, boat and flower & garden shows a year throughout New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Virginia and is a source of market research for the recreational vehicle, boating and home improvement industries.
