HOT NEW BOATS SIZZLE AT RICHMOND BOAT SHOW

RICHMOND, VA - Expect to feel the heat when you stroll through the doors at the 4th Annual MacEvents Boat Show-Richmond, Virginia, January 11-13, 2008, Greater Richmond Convention Center, Richmond, VA.
Hot new boats do that to visitors. And this show has some dandies.
The Catalina 309 on display by Chesapeake Yacht Sales, Deltaville, VA is a prime example.
This award winning boat introduced just this year is a sweet sailor with room below to take the family along at a price a family could afford.
An entry-level cruiser, the 309 is designed along the lines of the original Catalina 30 but promises to be a successful racer and cruiser for families.
Anna Grim of Chesapeake Yacht Sales said the boat’s design parameters included:
• Good performance and handling
• Roomy accommodations for “family style cruisers”
• Simple systems, therefore less maintenance
• Good value (even when compared to used boats)
Power boat fans have something to be excited about also---the Glacier Bay 2240sx Renegade, brought by Dare Marine, Yorktown, VA.
Scott James said the 2240sx Renegade provides the power and performance of its popular siblings. However, while boasting Glacier Bay's proven hull design the Renegade provides its own spacious and comfortable "play-conscious" layout.
“When loaded for a weekend of camping, fishing and watersports, this quick and compact 22-footer promises to deliver fuel efficiency and a smooth, steady ride.” said James.
And don’t miss the exciting Maxum 2500 SE on display by James River Marine, Richmond, VA.
The 2500 SE boasts Maxum's active seating design and a spacious below deck cabin, with a fully featured galley, dinette/forward berth.
It also features a separate mid-cabin berth area that sleeps four adults and has an enclosed head with a molded shower and sink.
Bowrider fans will sure to show interest in the Bryant 210 displayed by Adams & Durvin, Richmond, VA. Richard Allen said, “A step up from the former Bryant 200, this new sport boat has a molded swim platform and sleeker lines than its predecessor.”
Another hot boat about which fishing fans will discover much to like is the Pro-Line 26 Express brought by Haynes Outdoors, Manquin, VA. Stuart Haynes drew special attention to this boat---an expansion of the popular 23 Express.
“Fitted with the same tempered glass windshield and optional hard top frame as the earlier model,” explained Haynes, “the new 26 Express includes family comfort features such as an integrated dive platform with ladder, drink holders, bow handrail and folding rear bench seat (optional aft-facing helm bench seat available). The spacious cabin features a freshwater sink, galley with butane stove, table with filler cushion, Porta-Potti and choice of interior design. Comfort upgrades include air conditioning, AM/FM/CD stereo system and electronics packages.”
The hard-liners, on the others hand, will delight in the 26 Express’ array of fishing-friendly features including a lighted 20-gallon corner baitwell, rod holders, horizontal rod racks, hydraulic steering, tackle storage, twin 37-gallon fish boxes, and raw water washdown.
