Show Theme: “The Entertaining Garden…Party Among the Petals Any day is a good day for a garden party – from Mother’s Day, Memorial Day, or the dog days of summer, learn how to make your next outdoor celebration sizzle.

Special Show Attractions:

Display gardens – Lush, full-scale landscapes dazzle with colorful flowers, bubbling fountains, creative lighting, and garden pavilions full of great ideas for outdoor living.

Growing Up Green – Kids from tots to pre-teens will enjoy the hands-on interactive activities presented by Rutgers Gardens.

Lecture Series – Included in the price of admission are inspiring seminars by expert and entertaining speakers. In Seminar Area A, we feature nationally recognized guest speakers and experts offering a complete range of outdoor topics. Speakers from Rutgers Cooperative Extension will present practical information on a complete range of topics relating to gardening in “The Garden State”.

Paul Tukey is the founding editor and publisher of People, Places and Plants magazine and host of the HGTV stow by the same name. He will speak on Friday about SafeLawns.org, an international coalition of for-profit and non-profit organizations promoting environmentally friendly lawn care and resource conservation.

Joe Lamp’l is a Master Gardener, Certified Landscape Professional, author, syndicated columnist, and national television host and radio personality. He currently hosts GardenSMART on PBS television and often appears on The Today Show talking about eco-friendly gardening. Also a prolific writer, Joe pens a weekly syndicated newspaper column entitled, “The Gardener Within” and his latest book, Over the Fence with Joe Gardener devotes most of its content to the all important “why-do” behind the “how-to” of our gardening lifestyle today. Joe will share the “Best of the Must-Have’s.”

Melinda Myers is a nationally known gardening expert, TV host and author who has written 9 books, including Can’t Miss Small Space Gardening. She hosts “Great Lakes Gardener,” seen on PBS stations and “Melinda’s Garden Moments.” She is contributing editor and columnist for Birds and Blooms and Backyard Living, and has written articles for Better Homes and Gardens and Fine Gardening.

Ralph Snodsmith is the host of the nationally syndicated radio show, The Garden Hotline and author of many books including Ralph Snodsmith’s Fundamentals of Gardening and Tips from The Garden Hotline. He will appear each day of the show and share his tips on organic gardening and the latest tools and products to grow a “green” garden.

Bouquet of the Day – Gardening gurus and experts will offer great tips and demonstrations in our Bouquet of the Day area on the show floor.

Marketplace – A complete marketplace with over 100 vendors will be assembled with items specially chosen for the New Jersey Flower and Garden Show. Garden ornaments, garden tools, floral arrangements, fresh flowers, orchids and accessories will tempt the show visitor into a spring –like trance.

Valentine’s Day – Shop the Show with The One You Love. On February 14th, come to the show with someone you love and receive two-for one admission after 5 p.m. Explore the display gardens and stroll along “lover’s lane” in our marketplace to find the perfect gift for your Valentine.
