A GREENER WORLD IS GROWING AT THE NEW JERSEY FLOWER AND GARDEN SHOW

Friday, February 15th will be dedicated to living a greener life – both in and out of the garden
SPRING LAKE, NJ—The New Jersey Flower and Garden Show will GO GREENER on Friday, February 15, 2008 at the 6th annual show at the New Jersey Convention Center in Edison. The entire day will be dedicated to green gardening with all aspects of the show focused on protecting the environment. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn how to do your part in the fight against global warming, while exploring the latest eco-friendly gardening techniques. PSE&G has stepped forward to sponsor GO GREENER and will display their WorryFree replacement equipment to help fight gas emissions, reduce our dependence on foreign oil and keep energy costs in check. They will be on hand to offer free estimates for the latest energy-efficient replacement heating equipment, air-conditioners, and more - many of which feature the ENERGY STAR label. Learn how to save energy and money while helping New Jersey reach its aggressive goals of reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Speakers on GO GREENER day will include nationally lauded gardening gurus all of whom are dedicated to green gardening and working hand in hand with the natural world. They include Joe Lamp’l, master gardener and host of PBS TV’s “GardenSMART.” His latest book is “The Green Gardener’s Guide to Simpler, Significant Actions to Help Protect and Preserve the Planet.” Also appearing will be Paul Tuckey of the HGTV show and magazine, “People, Places and Plants” and founder of SafeLawns.org, an international coalition of organizations promoting environmentally friendly lawn care. Renowned horticultural expert Ralph Snodsmith will divulge the latest in organic gardening tools and products as will Tom Castronovo, the “Backyard Gardener” on NEWS 12 New Jersey and columnist, executive editor and publisher for “The Gardener News.
Kids from tots to ‘tweens will get their hands dirty in the Growing up Green Interactive Area sponsored by Rutgers Gardens which drew rave reviews last year and shoppers will delights in the “green” gardening and outdoor living products in the bustling marketplace. Have fun at the lively “Bouquet for the Day” workshops on the show floor and discussions covering topics like organic gardening, natural pest control, and the “dos and don’ts” of lawn care and wander through the full-size display gardens to help beat those winter blues.
The 6th Annual New Jersey Flower and Garden Show will be in bursting with blooms from February 14-17, 2008 at the New Jersey Convention Center, Raritan Center in Edison, New Jersey. The theme of the show is “The Entertaining Garden..Party among the Petals” and visitors will delight in the lush, full-scale display gardens with colorful flowers, bubbling fountains, creative lighting and garden pavilions full of great ideas for outdoor living.
