Whether your children have reached the age of curiosity about America, or your own wanderlust has reached the point of planning a trek across the continent, you can get a good start on you first or next RV adventure during the 13th Annual Atlantic City Fall RV Show Oct. 27 through Oct. 29 at the Atlantic City Convention Center.

“This show has something for every RV traveler,” said show director James McLaughlin, president of MAC Events, the show’s producer. “Our guests will have a choice of pop-up camping trailers, travel trailers, fifth wheels, mini motorhomes and class A gasoline and diesel pusher motorhomes. This show is so easy to get to. You make two left turns at the end of the Atlantic City Expressway on Artic and Michigan Avenues and drive straight into the Convention Center Parking Garage.”

The exhibitors in the Atlantic City Fall RV Show represent the broad range of recreational vehicles that are available to consumers as well as the features that are making RV travel comfortable and safe at every level. With 90 RV manufacturer brands, the show offers approximately 250 RVs to explore as well as dozens of booth exhibitors covering a wide range of RV services and accessories, including campgrounds from throughout the East Coast.

Exhibits range from pop-up camping trailers that can be towed by car to diesel-pusher luxury class A motorhomes, some with fireplaces and storage space for your motorcycle or ATV.

“Besides, traveling by RV is good for you,” McLaughlin said. “The Recreational Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) in a Campfire Canvass survey of RV owners this summer found almost 70% said they were more physically active on RV trips than on other vacations.” (The RVIA represents manufacturers of 95% of the RVs produced in the US.)

The only late-season RV show in southern NJ, the Atlantic City Fall RV Show features the latest 2007 models and the remaining 2006 models of travel trailers, fifth-wheel models, motorhomes and park models from manufacturers that include Jayco, Monaco, Canterbury, Crossroads, National, Layton, Beaver, Airstream, Fleetwood and Winnebago and many others.

Colonial Airstream of Lakewood, NJ, will introduce a new Airstream travel trailer, the BaseCamp, at the Atlantic City Fall RV Show. The stylish, ultra-light BaseCamp 2,000 pounds when fully loaded, can be towed by most cars, according to Colonial vice president James Lenzo.

“The price, less than $20,000, and the BaseCamp’s hip, low-profile look with a wraparound window appeal to first-time RVers and young families,” Lenzo said. “The attached tent extension offers a lightweight way to double the living space.”

Surf RV Center of Lakewood will exhibit a selection of Jayco lightweight expandable motorhomes as well as Nomad park models, which it will deliver to the campground of your choice free of charge as a special show incentive.

“It’s the tail end of our selling seasons and we’re going to sell as much as we can at this show to clear out our inventory,” said president Mark Ashley.

Surf RV’s exhibits will include the new Jayco’s new 35 SS Seneca motorhome with a tow capacity of 15,000 pounds for people into car racing and horses as well as long-distance RVers seeking a good value in a large motorhome. With an MSRP ranging from $130,000 to $149,000,
the 35 SS Seneca represents extraordinary value on a Kodiak chassis and powered by Duromax diesel with an Allison transmission. The 35 SS Seneca also is available in a toy hauler model.

Experienced recreational vehicle enthusiasts and those new to RV travel that want to get into it in a big way will find a selection of luxury motorhomes that can take them anywhere on the continent at Hitcharama’s exhibit. The Turnersville, NJ, dealer also will exhibit the Keystone Challenger fifth-wheel designed to be lightweight and affordable for young families but with accommodations for serious year-round RV travelers.

At 36-feet 10-inches long, the Challenger offers the comforts and roominess of a motorhome in a fifth wheel that can be pulled on a Ford F 250 or comparable pickup, said sales consultant Danny Foreman.

“This is a huge show with variety in every RV segment and our guests will be the first people in South Jersey to see many of the new 2007 models,” McLaughlin said. “They also find end-of-model-year deals on 2006 RVs that dealers want to sell to make room for their 2007 inventory. One of the comments we hear the most from first-timer RV families at our fall shows is how much more affordable it is to get into an RV than they had expected.”

The 13th Annual Fall South Jersey RV Show will be open Friday, Oct. 27, from noon to 7:00 p.m., on Saturday, Oct. 28, from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and on Sunday, Oct. 29, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The Fall South Jersey RV Show is produced by MAC Events, a nationally recognized producer of high-quality business-to-consumer trade shows in a variety of industries and markets since 1968. The Spring Lake, NJ-based family-owned company produces approximately 20 recreational vehicle, home, boat and flower & garden shows a year throughout New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Virginia and Wisconsin and is a source of market research for the recreational vehicle, boating and home improvement industries.
