Two Richmond Favorites Unite For a Spectacuar Home & Garden Weekend

June 15, 2007, Richmond, VA — MAC Events, LLC, a nationally well-known producer of high quality business-to-consumer trade shows, is combining two Richmond favorites to create a weekend of home and garden delights that will appeal to the entire family. MAC Events is pleased to announce the fusion of its Maymont Flower & Garden Show with the MAC Events Home Show --Richmond to create the MAC Events Home & Garden Show – Richmond with the Maymont Flower & Garden Show--offering the best of both events under one roof.
“MAC Events is thrilled to carry on the venerable tradition of the Maymont Flower Show, now made even stronger by combining it with the highly popular Home Show,” says James J. McLaughlin, founder of MAC Events. “Our goal is to provide Richmonders with the biggest and best array of home, garden and floral ideas, resources and tools possible, all in one weekend, with strong potential for growth in the years to come.”
The combined shows will take up residence at the Greater Richmond Convention Center beginning on Thursday, February 21st through Sunday, February 24th, 2008. The MAC Events Home & Garden Show - Richmond, the most comprehensive of its kind in the region, will occupy all 178,000 square feet of the Convention Center with one half of the space dedicated to the Flower Show and the other open to the full-scale Home Show. Visitors may spend the day enjoying both events or may make a weekend of it and return for several days. Special tickets will allow for multi-day entry due to the extensive scope of the shows, and the merger results in a great deal for attendees who will pay less and get more for their money at the combined event.
Visitors can look forward to a fun-filled weekend of inspiration featuring elegant gardens, seminars, programs for children and expert gardener lectures as well as home building and remodeling ideas, pointers from building experts and the newest materials for home improvements. The one-stop shopping event will offer the favorite items, plants and home decor that devotees have come to love all in one convenient location.
“Bringing the shows together offers convenience to both our vendors and our patrons,” explains company President, James B. McLaughlin, “and each show will be presented at the level of excellence or above that attendees have come to expect.” The theme for this season’s Flower Show is “The Entertaining Garden, Party among the Petals.”
