START YOUR FAMILY ODYSSEY AT MAC EVENTS ATLANTIC CITY RV SHOW

Thursday, March 13, 2008

Dream big. Consumers will realize that big dreams can be affordable when they tour the more than 350 RVs on exhibit March 14 through March 16 in the Convention Center at MAC Events 13th Annual Atlantic City RV & Camping Show.

“Every journey starts somewhere. For people who dream of packing up the family and seeing America, it can start right here at the Atlantic City RV & Camping Show,” said show director James McLaughlin, president of MAC Events, a Spring Lake company that has been producing RV shows for 40 years. “This is a huge indoor RV show with more than 90 RV brands represented so consumers will have a choice of models no matter what type of RV fits their lifestyle.”

Whether their idea of an RV odyssey is a transcontinental trip, a park model in a favorite campground or a weekend camping beside a trout stream, consumers will have a choice of everything from inexpensive pop-up camping trailers, travel trailers and fifth wheels to class C motorhomes, toy-haulers and luxury diesel-pushers.

The RV & Camping Show draws leading dealers from throughout New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania offering recreational vehicles by Jayco, Monaco, Canterbury, Crossroads, National, Layton, Beaver, Airstream, Fleetwood, Winnebago, Dynamax, Air Stream, Expedition, Itasca, Lance, Starcraft, Forest River, Dutchman, Kropf and many others.

The show also features a big selection of booth exhibitors including dozens of campgrounds from throughout the East Coast with representatives available to help show guests plan their next or first RV vacation.

Dealers use the show to introduce newly released models as well as 2008 RVs in their inventory and offer significant discounts to generate interest in both.

Atlantic Cape RV Center of Galloway Township will exhibit the new Crossroads Seville 35CK fifth wheel with a fireplace, 42-inch LCD television, leather interior and a double-door refrigerator. Offering roominess and ease of use, the Seville comes with quad slide outs and rear power jacks.

“It’s a new model that replaced Paradise Point by Crossroads,” said Atlantic Cape RV general manager George Teutsch. “The MSRP is $67,763 but we will be offering it at the show in the $50,000s.”

Surf RV Center in Lakewood will exhibit a mix of Jayco RVs, including the new Jayco 2008 32DS travel trailer that now comes with an awning, flat-screen television and surround sound stereo.

Jayco’s Melbourne class C motorhome carries those standard features as well as memory foam beds, a microwave/convection oven and a one-piece fiberglass roof for longer life. The Melbourne lists for about $97,000 but Surf RV will be offering both dealer and manufacturer discounts, according to general manager Mark Ashley

Families looking for an inexpensive summer home will have a choice of manufacturers including Hampton destination trailers being exhibited by Atlantic Cape and the new Crossroads park models being shown by Hitch RV of Turnersville.

“Why buy an overpriced house at the shore when you can get a fully loaded and furnished park model for $39,900?” asked Hitch RV owner Tim Waters, who also will exhibit Tranquility park models by Crossroads.

“Crossroads is the newest of the park model lines. They offer quality at an affordable price in 400 square feet of living space that has a master bedrooms and double loft, living room and a kitchen equipped like a house with a full-size refrigerator and oven,” Waters said.

Hampton destination trailers are like park models but the have holding tanks for use in campgrounds that don’t permit park models, said Atlantic Cape’s Teutsch.

“The Hampton models have a bedroom slide out and a slide out for the dinette, sofa and two chairs and are available in a choice of layouts including font-entertainment and bunkhouse models. One model comes with a fireplace and it’s an option in the others,” Teutsch said. Hampton destination trailers have an MSRP in mid-to-high $40,000s but Atlantic Cape is offering them at the show for $39,900.

People contemplating a summer cruising across America will discover how to do it in luxury at the exhibit of Cartec Motors of Bordentown, which is displaying Country Coach motorhomes built on the Dynamax chassis and ranging from $300,000 to $1.3 million depending on the size and level of amenities.

Popular with veteran RVers, Country Coach motorhomes offer a Cat or Cummins engine and feature living amenities that include solid wood cabinets and heated floors
